June TE Sneak Peek Day 1!

What an exciting way to start the month of June!! We are kicking off this fun and sunny month with another fabulous release from Taylored Expressions!

DoggyBoneBasketCL
Today is going to be a doozie so bear with me!!   First up is another Giving Tree Program stamp set, and this one is very near and dear to me so get ready from some major rambling as
only I can!!

As you may know

Taylored Expressions
supports various charities through the TE Giving Tree Program, and every 3 months
a new
stamp set is introduced
to support a specific charity. I am so excited because this month Taylor is bringing us
Pet's Place, the newest set in the Apple Doodle Ink line, and this set will be benefiting The Humane
Society of the United States.

Here's a little bit about this wonderful society. "It's the nation's
largest and most effective animal protection organization. The HSUS seeks a
humane and sustainable world for all animals—a world that will also benefit
people. They are America's mainstream force against cruelty, exploitation and
neglect, as well as the most trusted voice extolling the human-animal bond.
HSUS is also the lead disaster relief agency for animals, and they provide
direct care for thousands of animals at sanctuaries and rescue facilities, wildlife
rehabilitation centers, and mobile veterinary clinics."

I'm sure you'll agree this is a wonderful cause, and if you'd like, there's much more to learn about it HERE.

I am SOO beyond excited to have the opportunity to showcase this wonderful organization.  I've been so blessed to have had several wonderful pets to keep me company for as long as I can remember, and I especially love that this organization is so caring and dedicated towards protecting these little creatures!

Speaking of creatures, I thought I'd share with you the little nuisances that make my house nothing short of a hectic petting zoo!  (and I love them ALL to death!)

Tyson (the baby) BabyTyson

Jasper (the oldest, and the silliest for sure) Jasper

Enchilada ("Enchi" for short), Our little spoiled princess
Enchi

and these two rascals, which hubby and I inherited from my in-laws when they moved! Yogi (shown here with a beak full of carrots) Yogiand Shaba, who's a little camera shy!Shabba

and finally, I couldn't leave out my little nephew Soju 'cause he's just so cute too!!

Soju

So there you have it! I just realized I'm missing Nick's new fish "Red Star" in my little pet reel, but I'm sure you get the gist that we are pretty big animal lovers here so this particular stamp set and this wonderful cause are at the top of MY list!!

Now let's get to the crafty stuff!  For my first project I made a little belated birthday gift for Soju.  Soju's birthday was a couple of weeks ago, but I haven't seen him since he's out of state, and since his mommy and daddy are overseas I figured he could use some little treats!! Here's the little "Bone Tote" I made:

DoggyBoneBasketSM

Isn't it cuuute??  I drew my "bone panels" and cut them out of cardstock and attached them to my basket using sticky tape.  I will be sharing my bone template, and tote dimensions for you to use, if you'd like it!  My scanner was acting up today but I should have it scanned in the next day or so!  This was super-easy and fun to make, I hope you'll try it too! (wouldn't this be great for a fun animal-themed kid's party too??)

To make and decorate the base and handle I used some gorgeous chocolate cardstock and border stickers from our Pet's Place Project Pantry Kit, which is designed to coordinate with our Pet's Place stamp set.  This kit features the NEW Basic Grey Max & Whiskers Collection!!  YUMMY!, but I have to add that although this collection is full of super super-cute pet motifs, the patterns are also perfect for
masculine cards, distressed looks, home decor etc.

Here's a look at the side of my Tote:

DoggyBoneBasketSide
I stamped a background onto my brown CS using two little stamps from the set, and I attached my tote handle using little bone brads that are included in the Pet's Place Project Pantry Kit.  The ribbon I used is also in the kit!

As you know these HUGE kits are full of perfectly coordinated supplies to make TONS of
cards/projects and they include patterned paper, solid cardstock, ribbon and lots of fun embellishments.  For both my projects today I used only items included in this Project Pantry kit, so you will be able to see some of the variety included in the Pet's Place Kit.

Here's a card I made using Yogi as my inspiration, and also using more of the yummy goodies in my Pantry Kit.

PollyCrackerSM
EEEK!! Is this the cutest or what??  This sentiment is just SO fun and of course, this little parrot is absolutely adorable too!! I stamped the bird cage twice, and colored my bird using Copics.  I cut out one of my cages and mounted it onto my image panel using foam squares.  This  card sketch is from SCS282, and I loved that I was able to add the sentiment right to the front of my card! Isn't it fun??

Don't you just love these gorgeous patterns too?? I am so in love with this collection!! Can you believe that these two totally different projects were made using the same kit?  Wait until you see more of this Project Pantry Kit! you will not want to miss out, trust me!

I hope you liked these two little peeks!  If you'd like to help support this great cause AND score some ultra-cute stamps, Pet's Place will be available in the TE Store on Friday
morning at 8 am PST. (that's 11 AM EST) and as with every Giving Tree stamp set, $7 from the sale of each set will be donated to HSUS.
Don't forget, like all the other sets in the Giving Tree Program, they are made of the same gorgeous pink rubber on EZ Mount as all other TE stamp sets, but in order to maximize the donations, these sets are not pre-trimmed so you will need to trim these images yourself (this is a breeze to do, and if you need some good rubber-cutting scissors I highly recommend these Tim Holtz scissors.  I use them religiously!!)

I thank you SO much for bearing with me through this lengthy post! I am just SO excited about these two new additions to the TE family (can you tell??!).  But wait - there's more so please join me tomorrow for another fun new sneak peek!! Smiley from millan.net

There's lots more eye candy for you today, so please visit the rest of the Baker's Dozen to see what they've cooked up!

  9. Too cute! Yes, please post a tutorial on the bone basket. I couldn't do as well but I could try and make them to hold treats for adopted dogs from the rescue league where we got our basett hound. Or, to make cards for when they adopt a dog - they could send them to a few friends. Umm...I think I have my work cut out for me! Thanks for sharing.
