Sunshiny Day

Hi everyone!  I'm SO not having a sunshiny day!! I've been just miserably sick the past couple of days, but I decided to stop in and say hello! 

I wanted to share a card I made recently for an adorable little girl turning one! It just so happens her name is Soleil.  Her mommy asked me to make a card for her, and she wanted to incorporate the meaning of her name as well as her upcoming birthday, so this is what I came up with:

I just loooved making this for her!  I absolutely adore these papers from the K & Co. Cut 'N Paste collection.  I've used them quite a bit and they are just gorgeous all around!  I love the vintage feel, and the colors are just beautiful! 

I cut out the sun using my Tinkerbell Cricut Cartidge, and just sponged the edges and layered it on dimensionals.  The number one and the little heart are plain chipboard which I covered in patterned paper and distressed the edges using Ranger Walnut distress ink.  I added some stitching and a little grosgrain ribbon to finish off the vintage look! 

Well, I'm happy to report Soleil loved her card!  (well her mommy said she did!!) I hope you liked it too - and see how easy it is to incorporate a Cricut into your cardmaking??  (I'm such an enabler, aren't I?)  trust me - you NEED one, if you don't have one already!!

Oh, I almost forgot - I finally broke down and saw Twilight for the very first time (where have I been, I know!!) after hearing the whole world obsess about it (YES Jodi, I mean you) I couldn't stop myself - OH MY. I should've just kept on walking, now I'm lost!!  I have no words.  I think I watched it 10 times yesterday..  like I needed a new obsession! well...at least Edward made me feel better
