Preppin' for school!

Hello snookies!!

SchoolTimeCL
I am back today sharing the start of my back-to-school preparation marathon - also commonly referred to as my kissing-up-to-the-new-teacher period (hey, whatever works!)  sigh.. just kidding, of course.. still, I do looove the start of the new school year, and I always like to send little things to both the teachers and the kids in order to make their transition into the school year a little less painful!

For my project today I made a simple pencil holder and altered a tiny notebook for the kids to write some notes in!

Aren't these cuuute?? (and easy considering I'm going to be making like 30 of these!!) For my pencil holder I used a small scrap of cardstock measuring 2-1/4" x 4-1/2", and I made score lines at 1-1/4", 1-1/2", 3" and 3 1/4" so that it would fold nicely around the pencils, and then sealed the back seam using sticky tape.  I decorated it by adding a smaller strip of patterned paper and then added my stamped image from my Make The Grade stamp set using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, onto Choice Buttercream Cardstock

All of the colored cardstock, patterned paper and ribbon is from the Summertime Project Pantry Kit, which is perfect for anything school-related, since the colors are super bright and cheery!  I used the cardstock border sticker from the kit to decorate the notebook, which I covered using patterned paper.  I stamped my school house, paper-pieced it, and then colored the accents using Copic Markers.  Did you see my little gold bell on the school house?? I colored it in using some Gold Lame Smooch-eeek, super cute!!

I hope you like this super-simple and speedy quick little set!  Wouldn't this be so cute to slip into your little one's school bag, as a fun surprise?  I think so!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and please visit tomorrow because I have a fun Key Ingredients post to share with you!

Hope your weekend is off to a fun start!
