Happy Friday lovebugs!
Welcome to another chatty post chez moi! Hang on to your socks 'cause this is going to be a looong one!
I have been catching up on the Scripture 2 Challenge I found on THIS wonderful blog. Seriously grab a cup of coffee (I'm talking Venti here) and spend a day looking through her incredibly inspiring creations, and her organizational tips too!
Amazing, I tell you! so, late last year I came across the challenge Patter hosted (along the same lines as this one) but unfortunately I never really caught up. I decided I'm going to try to catch up my 2009 book - as I work alongside this one, but for now, I'm most excited to just start a fresh new year of taking some time to focus on my faith, and this is such a fun and motivational way to do it! I find that it's such a great feeling to set aside all the issues surrounding you and just focus on God's word, even if it's only for a few minutes each day.
Personally, I have been trying to do this for some time now, and it makes a world of difference, especially when you encounter negative situations, or people who sadly live and project nothing but anger and bitterness (ahem) , or, like my buddy Sandra calls it, "bad JuJu". So, I have found much comfort in turning the other cheek, and living my life the best way I can, while hanging on to my Faith, and it feels great!
anyhoo, I am sooo proud of myself because I managed to get my Cover page done for my stand - I am using the same thing Patter is using, which is the Frame Your Imagination Stand from Taylored Expressions, along with the 6 x 6 Page Protectors, and I must say, it looks DIVINE!!!
Here is the cover page, I made:
isn't this delish?? I used some of my SU! Razzleberry Lemonade DSP for my background layers since I wanted this kind of retro look to go with this gorgeous Prima Flower that I've been hoarding forever. The wide pink ribbon and gray corduroy buttons are from Stampin' Up! I used some gray Bazzill CS for my letter, which I cut out using my new Pink Slice (I SO love it), and the Wedding design card. I sponged the letters using walnut distress ink. The Cork Numbers and Tiny Alpha letters are also from Making Memories. I typed up my verse and printed it out onto Choice Snow White CS. cuteness? I think so.
But wait! there's more!! it's time for Hope -
Hope is Word #1 for the Challenge, and I think it was a great choice to start off the new year. For all of us, I hope we have a year filled with love and health and everything beautiful, but it is most important to have hope during trying times and less than ideal situations. I chose Psalm 25:5 for my Hope Page:
I love the way this turned out, before I did my layout I spent quite some time reading over some passages in the bible, and this Psalm was the one that I was immediately drawn to. I hope to think about this every day, to sort of remind me of where I want to be each day emotionally. I chose these colors because to me they seem calm, but happy. Not overly bright, and just pretty! the paper is from Stampin' Up, though I cant remember the name of it for the life of me - the ribbon is also SU! My flowers are from prima, as well as the swirls. (Gotta have bling!!) I used my Think Pink Slice Card to cut out my word, which I sponged using Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
Do you just love the font on this?? I do!! It's called Porcelain and you can download it HERE for free!! It's so vintage and shabby, YUMMY!!
Thank you so much for letting me ramble on and on! I hope you are inspired to celebrate your Faith, (whatever it may be!!) as anything that makes your life better and gives your little heart peace, is a wonderful thing to celebrate!
Smoochies,
Alex
