Center of Attention - Favors!!

Oh what a glorious beautious day!!

Princess BottleCL

I hope you're in the mood for a long and chatty post - I just had like 10 cups of coffee so I'm rearing to go!!!

I am so excited to get to participate in this month's Product Focus for Taylored Expressions (someone pinch me!!)  This month's spotlight is on Favors.  We all need to make party favors right??  well I am bursting at the seams to show you what I did with these super fun Potion Bottles.

Now, those of you who have little girls - this one is for you lucky ducks!!  Don't ask me what I know about little girl parties, but I can only imagine that it normally involves fluffy princesses and lots of pink so I decided I just HAD to go all out girlie on this one.  For my project today I made an "Enchanted Potion" favor for your little partygoers!

Princess BottleSm

is that the cutest thing ever??  I just loove how easy and girly these bottles turned out, all I did was cut out the oval image, a scalloped mat, and just embellished!  Personally I think that if you were making these for a little girl's party, you could easily have them make this as their "craft" - they really are SO easy to make and of course, by doing it themselves they can add their own perfect touch!   Also, what I love about these bottles is that once the candy inside is eaten, they can reuse it to store beads, or little trinkets or even make sand-art designs with them and keep them as room decor! how fun is this??

BY the way, right now is an excellent time to get pink and white M&Ms from the Cupid's Mix!!  How perfect that they match just beautifully??!! Of course, working on this project left me with this sad picture:

Reds

You'll be happy to know, rather than have these lonely unwanted Red M&Ms sitting around, I did my good deed and ate them all.  What can I say, I'm an artist suffering for my craft.Smiley from millan.net

Okay, so now before I get onto my next party favor, I should mention that all of the supplies I used for the Princess Potion Favor are from my Winnie's Walls Key Ingredients.  I just loove everything included in this kit!!  I don't know if you've had a chance to check out the brand new Key Ingredients Website but if not, do check it out - I am a huuuge fan of Taylor's Key Ingredients - I love that I don't have to go scrounging around for coordinating embellishments when I'm sitting down making something, I just wanna play!  Anyway, it's a great way to get lots of different products to work with, without investing a ton of money!  By the way, I was a key Ingredients suscriber looong before I joined the DT so you KNOW I am totally in love with them!! ANyway, what I was getting at before being all chatty is that I made these centerpieces/place settings to go with my Princess Favors:

Princess House
aren't they just stinkin' cute???  With the right paper and embellies you can easily make fun easy party accessories, without spending a ton of money!!  I covered a small birdhouse using more paper from my Key Ingredients and made my little fence using my Love Everywhere stamp set.  The Leafy ribbon is also from my Winnie's Walls Key Ingredients, and it just adds the perfect touch!

Here's a picture of my completed set:

Princess Set

Is this Princessy or what??  My butterflies are from the Discover your Wings stamp set, arent they precious?? sigh.. God help me if I ever have a daughter. It will be ALL over, I promise!! lol...

Okay so now that the princesses are all taken care of, I am going to show you a super-quick fun favor for Valentine's day, which of course is just around the corner!!

HappyHeartBottleFront

Such a cute way to package up some fun little candy!

Here's a look at the bottle:

HappyHeartBottleFrontFull
For this one I used a couple of small pieces of my "Be Loved" paper from my Valentine Key Ingredients, and I just stamped my Balloon once on my image panel, and then using red ink I stamped it again and cut it out for adding to my panel using dimensionals, this way it really pops (No pun intended!! silly me..)

For this Potion Bottle, I thought it would be fun to keep it open and airy so I didn't cover my entire bottle, especially since I think it's so much fun to be able to keep them on display once the candy is gone! Luckily because these papers are doouble-sided it just adds such a cool touch!

Never let it be said that my backside looks anything less than perfect:

My bottle's that is...Smiley from millan.net

Seriously, here's a great little tip - I ran my entire background piece through my Xyron machine and just adhered it to the bottle - it sticks and looks completely perfect!  no yucky adhesive lines or glue dots to be seen!! isn't that amazing??? (Okay, what can I say, I'm easy to please!)  Not only does this make it a breeze to dress up your potion bottles, BUT it also looks nice and the best part is you can make a ton of these using just some small pieces of paper!

Okay so, I hope you're considering these little bottles for your next party!! I love them - I'm actually using a bunch of these in my craft room - they hold my dew drops and small buttons, and they look pretty too!  Luckily, these babies (along with all the other Favor products) are on sale this entire weekend, so now is a great time to stock up!!
