Summer Fun & a Sketch!

I'm baaack!! And what an amazing time spent at Disney!! I can't wait to show you some pictures (I only took about 500, I kid you not!)  We had SUCH fun, and the best part? I got THE best tan ever!! (of course I wont be so happy in 20 years when I'm all shriveled up like a prune) BUT for now, I'm lovin' my new "summer fun" shade!

Speaking of summer, look who's here to kick it all off:

I was drooling over Jen Del Muro's Blog this evening (isn't she amazing???) and I stumbled onto this SFYTT post.

I thought this it was such a cool sketch I just HAD to try it!  I'm not sure if there are any deadlines or anything, but I was itching to try it! Mind you, you would think I would find it easier to follow a sketch since all the hard work is done for you, but more often than not I just sit these obsessing that all the elements are just exactly the size/shape as the sketch..go figure

This card seemed like the perfect time to ink up this funky summer cuppie from my  A Year of Sweets set.  I also used up some of the fun papers and accessories from my March Key Ingredients(SO lovin' the patterned paper included)!!  Anyway, after trying to follow Jen's sketch religiously, this is what I came up with:

Is this a "little" bright or what??  My cuppie is colored using Copics, and may I say Memento Tuxedo Black ink rocks big time!! (THANK youJodi) NO heat setting, no waiting, no smearing - just good times!!

(Hmnn, so I guess this means I can't blame my less than perfect shading on the ink anymore?? )

Thanks for stopping by! I hope your summer is off to a bright and happy start!!
