Road to Peace...

it's a beautiful thing.

I am in love with this stamp set!  The images are beautiful, and very diverse.  Actually this card is a combination of 2 sets: Lamppost Expressions, and Lamppost Blessings.

(Both are new releases from Clear Dollar Stamps, and will be available for purchase on Saturday Nov.1.)

Lamppost Expressions features all sorts of images and sentiments which can be used for a multitude of occasions - later I will show you a fun little "lifesaver" gift idea using this set as well, so please be sure to check in later!

My first choice for combining these two sets, though, was all about serenity and peace...

I started out trying to make this very monochromatic in color.  This is a square card with multiple vanilla layers, and all stamped elements are embossed in gold.  I distressed some of the layers with Ranger Vintage Photo distressing ink. I also embossed one of the layers with my Cuttlebug embossing folder, and dabbed champagne stickles onto the embossing.  The Ground, Lamppost and Sign are watercolored using SU! WWC in Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip, very lightly, except in areas of shading.  The crown is colored using Copics and accented with stickles.

I cut out an additional light fixture, sign, and poinsettia crown to mount on top of the stamped image for added dimension.  The best part of the card for me is the sentiment.  I had originally thought to stamp it on the inside, but I really think it's so powerful that it needed to be a part of the main image (besides the font is so pretty too!!)  I was very glad i left it on the outside, I like seeing it! :)

I really think this card would be great as a quick "one layer" card. Clear stamps make lining everything up so easy!! (even for me :) LOL), and of course that means it's great for making multiples.  I might just have to try it - or better yet, you try it and show me your creations!!

Thank you so much for checking in and for the wonderful comments on my Baby Jesus projects.  I am incredibly flattered and just so grateful! Flirtysmile3
